The first person Freddie met in the waking world of Sleephattan, his housemate, and his first (and closest) tether. Freddie feels a sense of responsibility over Sharon—as far as he knows, she's only 18—and is hesitant to let her see any of his own issues because he doesn't want to shake her confidence in him and take away a source of feelings of safety. In reality, he needs her as much as she needs him: being around her eases some of his feelings of profound loneliness, and feeling like he has someone he needs to take care of makes him more aware of the consequences of his self-destructive behavior.

ARTHUR.

Freddie's other housemate, and one of his first friends in Somnia, for some definition of the word friend—while they've both been slow to warm up, with most of Freddie's apprehension coming from Arthur's self-admitted criminal background, he's fond of him overall and enjoys his company. Arthur's shared military background has given Freddie a degree of assumed trust in his competence that others would have to work harder to earn. He finds Arthur very handsome and he's generally his type; in the early days, this combined with Freddie's intrinsic need for attention and affirmation—and desire for any trace of familiarity in an unfamiliar and alarming environment—led to the short-lived beginnings of romantic feelings that he'd ultimately shrug off upon clocking the lack of mutual interest. Arthur is presently the only one who knows about his bulimia.

One of Freddie's friends, and a friendship that was formed fairly quickly despite their coming from very different walks of life. The two have spent a lot of time scavenging in the early days of their time in Sleephattan, and Freddie feels obligated to look out for him due to his diabetes—whilst also feeling a degree of camaraderie and understanding he doesn't quite feel with anyone else because of the similarity in their shared stigmatized medical diagnoses. Toki is among the few privy to Freddie's insulin resistance diagnosis and need to monitor his blood sugar.

RUHONG CLOUDWALKER.

After their first meeting in the dream orchard ended up with an artificially enhanced desire to get to know each other, Freddie has since encountered Ruhong again and is in the beginnings of a tether with her. He doesn't know much about her, but he'd very much like to—his interest is driven both by recognizing that she'd be a useful ally and because he finds her very attractive in both looks and outward manner. He kind of wants her to be impressed with him. Recently, he shared what it's like to fly, and she shared her own experience of flight back - quickly creating a feeling of understanding of that particular large part of Freddie's self that he feels like nobody else really grasps. Freddie sees an element of the same in her, and that familiarity is reassuring.

Freddie met Kalmiya in the dream orchard on the first test drive meme, accidentally memshared his mortifying experience with heatstroke during his first month of deployment in Iraq, and somehow that devolved into very sexually charged flirtation that ultimately was not consummated. Now that Freddie knows the level of psychological intimacy that sex in Somnia entails, it would take a lot of closeness and familiarity he doesn't have with anyone here to will him to engage—so he just exists in a state of perpetual thirst when he's around her. He also thinks she's genuinely a fun person, and their playful energies mesh well, earning her the place of non-close friend as well.

Early ingame, Freddie helped Ignis get set up and better equipped to navigate the world on the heels of his recent loss of sight after accidentally broadcasting his tinnitus through the network. Freddie already feels pretty invested in his wellbeing even if they don't know each other that well.

Freddie met Ivan after accidentally broadcasting his tinnitus across the network, and as the conversation evolved began to learn a lot of disturbing information about the world he comes from very quickly. Freddie feels a deep sympathy for him, and that sympathy largely manifests in a drive to show him as much of Earth as he can, the good and the bad, to give him frame of reference. He's also starting to feel the desire to try and give him Earth experiences he didn't get to have.

Freddie met Megumi early on, and the two of them scavenged around Columbia University together. He thinks highly of him - in his eyes, Megumi had adapted very well and handled a crisis situation a lot better and a lot more logically than can be expected of someone his age, and Freddie trusts in his ability to survive.
